Cleveland Rocks

We are at the Rock and Dock (now known as Oasis Marina) right at the back (water-side) of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio!! Woo Woo Woo!!

Our boat is the one right behind the Cleveland sign.

We had a leisurely cruise in calm seas. 8.7 knots (10 mph) put us at the Cleveland Hall of Fame marina at 11:45 this morning.  The whole waterfront is in the heart of downtown. We are right next to the Browns football stadium, restaurants, science museum and the Cleveland Cliffs William G. Mather freighter museum.

Tomorrow we go to the Hall of Fame in the afternoon.

There are seven other Loopers here today, with more expected tomorrow.  Normally Cleveland is not on the Loop, as the normal path goes through Canada.  So we have a special bonus.

Now let’s talk about debris in the water. Debris (tree trunks, telephone poles{with wire connecting them - yes we had that experience} and any type of stuff in the water) is a hazard to boaters. That is why we try to remove it if it’s in a marina. Too difficult to do while underway.

    1. We have the best spot! We got to watch a bunch of boats coming in this afternoon. We are staying in Cleveland tomorrow for an extra day as 10-15 kn wind is supposed to make Lake Erie have 2-4 foot swells tomorrow hitting the side of the boat. Not good! So we’re staying here an extra day.
