Erie Canal - Day 2

Today we went through six locks on the Erie Canal, numbers 8-13. They ranged in lift height from 8 to 15 feet. It was a cool and rainy day. We decided to dock at the wall just past Lock 13. Unfortunately, a flock of Canadian geese have been using the dock wall as their personal toilet. 😑

In addition, freight trains go by on the other side of the canal every 15 minutes or so. It takes about four minutes for the entire train to pass us by.   Long Train - 105 Cars  Make sure your sound is turned on.

We will go through Lock 17, the guillotine lock, tomorrow, July 3. It is a 40 feet lift, the highest we will go through on the Erie Canal.
