Lake Ontario

We have now been Looping for 2 weeks. That matches the longest we have been on our boat so far.

The Great Lake Ontario reminded us of the Long Island Sound, with its swells and not being able to see land for part of the horizon. In addition, it was 67 degrees, which is quite cold with wind. Not my favorite cruising day. Fred says the swells were 4-5 seconds apart.

This is an example of the destruction wrought by 4 ft. swells 4-5 seconds apart on Taurus.

This is our path on Nebo. The red is our normal speed of 13-14 knots.  The yellow is our speed of 17 knots surfing down the waves.  😱

We are in Rochester, NY for two nights. It’s a very busy boating area. Lots of sailboats which reminds me of Newport, RI.

Look at this water from the Genesee River that leads from Lake Ontario to Rochester. All the mud from the rains is flowing into the Lake.

Tomorrow we will stay in Rochester before we head to Wilson on Sunday to get the boat to the Captain Monday morning.
