Cheboygan, MI — more interesting than you might think

We left Duncan Bay this morning and cruised 2 nautical miles (2.3 real miles 😆) to our new marina in Cheboygan, still in Michigan. We need to be at Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island on Tuesday, so that is driving our actions the week prior to it. It is still difficult to get a slip on the weekends, hence our moving 2 miles.

We walked to the downtown area. There was a farmers’ market going on.

The downtown area is pretty with nice fronts on the busy main road.

This frog watched as we walked by

All I have to say about this “boat” is “Really!?”
(Hint:  check the hp).  I need to watch for a whale wakeboarding.

I thought we were past this, but evidently not here.

Ok, I haven’t seen this in awhile, but I saw it at a motel here.

Do you know what it is?  (Peg, please don’t answer. I know you know what they are!) 😀
(Note ~ Electric outlets to plug in your car's engine to keep it warm in the winter)

    3. As always!
To my knowledge, you never had a lava lamp as I did. 😜
Did you have a block heater in Maine? We don’t have them in Connecticut.

  2. I was wondering if you were going to Mackinac Island, can't wait to hear all about it. One place I have wanted to visit, maybe someday. It has been fun to watch your progress and get to see bits of the US that we have not been too. What a great adventure! Stay safe and have fun.

    1. Ding ding ding!! That’s it! We first learned of this when we lived in Minnesota. We had block heaters put in our cars and there was already an outlet in front of each car in the garage. We only used them in severe cold, which was a good chunk of the winter. 🥶
