Last day in Duncan Bay, MI
Today was our third day at Duncan Bay. We were very boring yesterday so there was not anything interesting to tell you. Today we rented a car from a local dealer who brought the car to us and picked it up.
With the car, we went to a restaurant. We have found that in a restaurant, if we order 1 appetizer and 1 entrée, and split them, we get to try more dishes and eat our whole meal.

| We tried something new today - fried cheese curds. Cheese curds are the moist pieces of curdled milk. It is my understanding that fresh cheese curds squeak when you bite into them. The fried cheese curds were delicious, somewhat like fried mozzarella, and served with a tomato-bacon jam. |

| We chose this restaurant because it had perch. Perch and walleye are the two fish from the Great Lakes that people tell us we must try. We have had walleye, twice, once at an outside craft beer place. The other time was at the Regatta. It is very good, pretty mild. We had perch today. It was different from the walleye, but still mild. |

It’s amazing how many places have had canals and man-made inland waterways. Cheboygan is the Great Lakes entry to a significant inland waterway in Northern Michigan. The waterway is 40 miles long going through three rivers, three lakes and two locks and is just a few miles short of going all the way to Lake Michigan. We are too tall to go all the way through, but it looks like a great recreation area. |
