Clifton, TN on the Tennessee River

What a beautiful day. I can see why they call Tennessee God’s Country. We woke up to 50 degrees and sunny. There was not a cloud in the sky. It was great until we started moving at 9:30 this morning and it was 55 degrees. Have you ever gotten into a convertible with the top down and 55 degrees outside, cruising down the highway?  Yea, it’s cold!  And so were we!

You might be wondering why we got such a late start. We don’t usually leave so late, however, we had issues. This time, once Fred pulled the electric cord from the pedestal on the dock, an alarm was insistently beeping inside the salon. It kept going and going, and finally I stuck my head outside and confirmed he knew it was going off. He didn’t know, so then started trouble-shooting. The end result is that he didn’t turn off the AC power from shore when he pulled the electric cable and the inverter didn’t like that.  And if you understand that, you’re doing better than I am.  A half hour later, we finally got to cruise.

When we left Connecticut on Saturday, fall was done with the beautiful foliage. In Tennessee, we have a subdued fall. The colors are more muted.

There were some impressive houses along the waterfront. I keep saying that our boat is cheaper waterfront property.  We had a better view than any of these houses.

And in addition to the permanent homes, there are RV parks right on the waterfront.

And more cliffs. This surprised me.

Remember I said that spiders invaded our port side while the boat was at New Johnsonville for 6 weeks? Well, it doesn’t matter here because you can’t see the port side in the slip they gave us due to all the junk that is sitting on the dock finger.

Now I’m talking to my boating friends. Have you ever seen such a mess?  It’s embarrassing 😳
And to end the day, we ate dinner at the marina restaurant with John and Mary Ann of Highlander III. One of the best parts of Looping is meeting other Loopers. 🥂
