Shiloh Civil War Battlefield, TN
We are staying in Iuka, MS a couple of days because it’s a sister marina to our home port in Connecticut. Therefore our docking fees are waived.
So this morning we borrowed the marina courtesy car and visited the Shiloh National Battlefield Park. It was one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War and the largest number of dead soldiers.
This is Pittsburgh Landing where the Union Army under General U.S. Grant got off their steamships and set up camp. |
| We passed by here yesterday on our way to Iuka. That little dot by the water is Fred. I can’t keep him away from any water! |
We didn’t have much time due to needing to return the courtesy car, but here are a couple of pictures. |
| By the way, here is our ride this morning. I think today was the first time Fred drove a full size pickup truck. ๐ |
