W e ‘ r e - - B a c k !!!

Yesterday we flew from Connecticut back to Nashville. Since we didn’t arrive until 4:00 pm, and it was a couple hours drive to the marina, we stayed at a hotel close to the airport. We had a nice dinner in the hotel.  Since it was a weekend, it was all couples. They had live music, Aaron Vance, who played guitar to his own songs, the best of which was “Blue Collar High Life”.  Now how often do you get a good performer playing live music in a hotel?!!  Only in Nashville…

Today, the same driver who drove us from the marina to Nashville, brought us back to the marina. It’s a couple of hours drive, but Will (aka Bug), could talk about a lot of subjects. It was a quick trip.

You will need to reference our blog, A Day in Port - Spiders, on August 26, to truly understand how disgusting it was to arrive at our beautiful boat, and see the entire port (left) side of the boat covered in spiders and their mess. Ugh!  Amidst everything else we had to do to be ready to return to cruising tomorrow, Fred spent a good hour cleaning that one side. My question is, why were the spiders only on one side of the boat?  It was the side away from the dock. Maybe they had nefarious plans to take over, and thought they were hiding. Now there’ll be more spider hunting. 🤔

One of the first things we had to do was get fresh provisions (groceries). We borrowed the marina courtesy car and headed to Walmart, which was a 25 minute drive. Obviously we are in the middle of nowhere. As we drove, I saw a whole bunch of transmission line towers.  Nothing like being in the heart of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
