Today was a day in port. The temperature was 86 degrees, which evidently was too warm even for the 4 ducks at the marina. |

We took a stroll through town after lunch. It’s filled with historic buildings. |
The Historic Arcade is a beautifully restored 393-seat theatre. Originally a Vaudeville house and a movie theatre, the Arcade Theatre was built by brothers, Harvie and Gilmer Heitman in 1915. According to local historian and writer, T.M. Jacobs, “the Arcade originally hosted vaudeville, including magic acts, local talent nights, and plays.”

After lunch, we walked back to the Blues Festival. Apparently this is the first Blues Festival that has been held in Ft. Myers and they plan to make it an annual weekend. The first band, Sean Chambers Blues Band, was starting, so we grabbed a couple of seats and watched their set.

And remember, we were in port today. So these sunset pictures are the same views as yesterday. Very different! |
