Beaufort, SC to Charleston, SC

On April 15, we left Beaufort while it was extremely windy. The wind was pushing Taurus off the dock, which was fine. But we were very close to the boats in front of and behind us. It took 4-5 other Loopers on the dock to help us get out without any contact to the other boats. And we made it!

I’ve been posting pictures of docks next to houses and they often have the boats on a lift ridiculously high off the water. Well today we saw docks where it was high tide and the boats weren’t so high off the water anymore.

The tide coming in makes this boat closer to the water

Not such a bad idea to have an insanely high dock and lift.
I guess the 9 feet in the air isn’t so ridiculous after all.

Remember when those seagulls followed us on Lake Okeechobee?  Well, they did it again today: More Seagulls?!  Why?  We aren’t a fishing or shrimp boat. I can’t figure this out. 😕 Maybe they are our fans?

Here’s a picture of Taurus taken underway by another Looper
