Wright Brothers National Memorial — Family!

On Saturday, April 30, my brother, Doug, drove 45 minutes to pick us up at the marina to spend a few days with his family in the Outer Banks (OBX).  We went to the Wright Brothers National Memorial which is very near their house.  The monument is on top of the sand dune the Wright brothers used to catch the ocean breeze in Kill Devil Hills.  Fun Fact - the site where the Wright Brothers National Memorial sits is 80 ft. shorter than it was on December 17, 1903, the day of First Flight.

This is the sewing machine they used to sew the sateen fabric covering the wings.

Doug always has to be the “center of attention”.  😂

Doug and my sister-in-law, Rorie, live in Kill Devil Hills, so we spent a few days with them. They have a five-month old Fox Red Labrador puppy named Sammie; so I got my puppy fix.

And yes, Sammie’s paws are huge. He’ll be a big boy.

They have a neighborhood dock which is very peaceful.

Rorie prepared our dinner and it was delicious!!
