Baltimore, MD to Chesapeake City, MD

We cruised today to Chesapeake City. We are only 1.8 miles from the Delaware border. Tomorrow we’ll push on to Cape May, NJ.

Today was uneventful, which is good. We left the Baltimore Inner Harbor, went down the Patapsco River to the Chesapeake Bay.  As we passed by Fort McHenry, they were flying the smallest flag again.

The Chesapeake Bay can be difficult, but fortune was smiling on Taurus and us today.
The Chesapeake was calm, and the water is blue.

We passed by a community of mobile homes and RV’s where everyone has a water view.

We cruised the Chesapeake Bay almost to its northernmost point. Then we turned into the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (C&D Canal) which is a cut from the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware River. It was first proposed in the 1700’s, but didn’t start construction until the 1800’s. It does have an interesting history.

There was a whole mess of Loopers on the move today.
Taurus is the one without its name by the emblem creating the red route line.

We are tied up to a fixed dock with a two foot tidal range.  It would be so much nicer with floating docks 😌 And the boats tied up provide that nautical nuance for the restaurant two feet from us.
