Still in Hampton
Saturday, May 7 - the wind has really been picking up today. It was short sleeve weather this morning and by afternoon, the North wind blew in and it was windy and cold 🥶
To get off the boat, we went out to lunch. Unfortunately, it made me slightly queasy. I won’t go there again! But they did have a beautiful original tin ceiling.

After that, we went to the Hampton History Museum.
I remember the Susan Constant, Discovery and Godspeed from school. The point is, the first Europeans in the new world happened in Hampton, VA in 1607, years before the Pilgrims in 1620.
Also, Blackbeard, Captain Edward Teach, traveled the Tidewater region in Virginia. When he and most of his crew were killed, they placed his severed head on a pole at the entrance to the Hampton River which is now known as Blackbeard’s Point.

That evening there was a band playing in the square behind our boat. So we donned our cold-weather gear and went to listen.
